Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Josh Scott along with Deputy Shannon Jones and Deputy Allen Turner arrested Adam Jones age 27 of London on Sunday night December 23, 2018 at approximately 11:50 PM.
The arrest occurred off West Laurel Road approximately 7 miles west of deputies were dispatched to an assault complaint there.
Deputies learned while enroute to the scene that the female victim had fled the residence and locked herself inside a vehicle and that the suspect was circling the vehicle striking it with a belt.
When deputies arrived at the scene the suspect attempted to flee on foot and following a short foot chase and a brief scuffle with deputies the suspect was taken into custody.
Deputies learned that allegedly this subject and struck the female victim in the face and dragged her around inside the residence.
Adam Jones was charged with assault – 4th degree; resisting arrest; fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot; alcohol intoxication in a public place.
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
