Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Major Chuck Johnson arrested Gentry L. Jones age 29 of Swafford Drive, London on Sunday evening December 23, 2018 at approximately 6:50 PM.
The arrest occurred off KY 1023 approximately 6 miles southeast of London after Major Johnson received a complaint regarding a suspicious person in a driveway.
When Major Johnson at the scene he located this individual at a residence where he did not reside and determined through investigation that this individual was under the influence – this individual stated he had used meth amphetamine earlier. In addition, Major Johnson found this subject in possession of a needle and suspected methamphetamine.
Gentry Jones was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine.
Also assisting was Deputy Travis Napier.
This individual was lodged in the Laurel Detention Center.
