Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Joey Robinson along with Sgt. Greg Poynter arrested Clenda Pennington age 57 of Corbin on Monday afternoon December 17, 2018 at approximately 4:14 PM.
The arrest occurred off South Stewart Rd. approximately 10 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of an apparent female shoplifter at Corbin Walmart that was observed walking through the parking lot there.
When deputies arrived at the scene they located the female suspect at a service station parking lot nearby and found her in possession of $40 in unpaid merchandise. This subject was also found in possession of Suboxone tablets.
This individual was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting under $500; possession of a controlled substance – second-degree.
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
