KSP: Human remains located in Knox County


Gray, Ky. (December 10, 2018) - On December 10, 2018 at 6:16 p.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan, received a call from Knox County Dispatch requesting assistance after human remains had being located off of Garland Cemetery Road in the Gray community of Knox County. Troopers and Detectives from Post 10 responded to the location and began an investigation.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 15 year old juvenile was riding his four wheeler in a wooded area off of Garland Cemetery Rd when he came across human remains. After locating the remains, KSP was notified to investigate.

The human remains will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort in the morning for an autopsy. State Police will be on the scene throughout most of the night collecting evidence.

At this time no identification and cause of death can be made due to the state of the body.

Case is still under investigation by Det. Jake Wilson. Also assisted at the scene were Deputy Coroner’s with the Knox County Coroner’s Office.
