Laurel deputies find 3-year-old child wandering around alone after domestic violence complaint / Three arrested

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Sgt. Greg Poynter along with Deputy Jake Miller arrested three individuals off Davenport Lane, approximately 8 miles South of London on Friday afternoon November 30, 2018 at approximately 3:12 PM.

The arrests occurred after deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence complaint there and found a three-year-old child wandering around outside the residence by itself.

Deputies found a male and female subject inside the residence in a physical fight. Deputies arrested those two individuals along with a third individual who came from nearby who was determined to be the influence. The three-year-old child was removed by social services who responded to the scene and placed the child with other family.

The arrested individuals were identified as:

  • Rose A. Smallwood age 22 of Davenport Ln., Lily, charged with assault – 4th degree; wanton endangerment – second-degree. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding child support.
  • William A. Morgan age 36 of Davenport Ln., Lily, charged with assault – 4th degree and wanton endangerment – second-degree.
  • The third individual who arrived at the scene while deputies were there was identified as Rodney Mullikin age 33 of Davenport Rd., Lily, charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.
  • All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
