S.E. Kentucky man pleads guilty to Sexual Abuse 1st degree - Victim under 12 years of age

Pineville, Ky. (November 28, 2018) - On November 26, 2018 Douglas Hensley (42) of Bell County, pled guilty to charges stemming from a lengthy KSP investigation beginning in January of 2017.

On Jan 12, 2017 Kentucky State Police, Post 10, Detective Aaron Frederick received a complaint that two female juveniles had told their school counselors they were sexually abused in 2015.

During the investigation it was discovered that Douglas Hensley sexually abused three female juveniles ages 8, and two others ages 11. Also, he distributed obscene matter to a 12 year old.

On Jan 19th Det. Frederick obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Hensley and arrested him on two counts of sexual abuse 1st degree victim under 12 years of age. One count of sexual abuse 3rd degree and one count of distribution obscene matter to minors 1st offense.

He was later indicted on May 3rd 2017 on those charges.

On November 26, 2018 Douglas Hensley entered a guilty plea in Bell County court and received eight years on each count of the sexual abuse 1st degree charge. 90 days for sexual abuse 3rd degree, 12 months on distribution obscene matter to minors 1st offense. All charges to run concurrent.

Also assisted with the investigation were Neil Ward with County Attorney’s Office, Commonwealth Attorney Karen Greene Blondell, Cumberland Valley Children’s Advocacy Center and Bell County Community Based Services.
