"Operation November to Remember" Drug Roundup arrests ongoing in Laurel County

Additional Drug Roundup arrests since November 14, 2018

November 24, 2018

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Miller arrested George T. Griffey age 35 of McKinley Lane, Keavy, London on Saturday night November 24, 2018 at approximately 9:41 PM.

The arrest occurred off West Cumberland Gap Parkway, 10 miles south of  London after this subject was charged on a Laurel County warrant of arrest regarding being sought by the Sheriff's office regarding the drug roundup "Operation November to Remember" which was conducted on November 14th, 2018  where the Laurel County Sheriff's Office was seeking 17 individuals on drug trafficking charges throughout Laurel County based on undercover investigations conducted by Laurel Sheriff’s Detective James Sizemore and Detective Bryon Lawson.

George T. Griffey was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – methamphetamine.

Also as Deputy Miller arrested this individual, Deputy Miller found Griffey in possession of a quantity of  crystal methamphetamine, a syringe, a pack of rolling papers, and a large amount of U. S. Currency.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Sheriff Root stated that additional arrests will be continuing.

November 19, 2018

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sgt. Greg Poynter along with Deputy Josh Morgan and Deputy Robert Reed arrested Clinton Thomas Jackson age 25 of East City Dam Road, London on Monday night November 19, 2018 at approximately 9:07 PM.

The arrest occurred off Anglers Road, approximately 5 miles South of London after this subject was charged on Laurel County warrant of arrest regarding being sought by the Sheriff's office regarding the drug roundup "Operation November to Remember" which was conducted on November 14th, 2018  where the Laurel County Sheriff's Office was seeking 17 individuals on drug trafficking charges throughout Laurel County  based on undercover investigations conducted by Laurel Sheriff’s Detective James Sizemore and Detective Bryon Lawson.

Clinton Thomas Jackson was charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

November 16, 2018

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Detective James Sizemore arrested Lee A. Jones age 72 of Ott Road, London on Friday afternoon November 16, 2018 at approximately 1:40 PM.

The arrest occurred off Ott Road, just east of London after this subject was charged on Laurel County warrant of arrest regarding being sought by the Sheriff's office regarding the drug roundup "Operation November to Remember" which was conducted on November 14th, 2018 where the Laurel County Sheriff's Office was seeking 17 individuals on drug trafficking charges throughout Laurel County based on undercover investigations conducted by Laurel Sheriff’s Detective James Sizemore and Detective Bryon Lawson.

Lee Jones was charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – methamphetamine.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Detective James Sizemore along with Detective Bryon Lawson arrested Ruth Ann Murphy age 41 of Binder Drive, London on Thursday afternoon November 15, 2018 at approximately 12:36 PM.

The arrest occurred off Binder Drive in London after after this subject was charged on Laurel County warrant of arrest regarding being sought by the Sheriff's office regarding the drug roundup "Operation November to Remember" which was conducted on November 14th, 2018 where the Laurel County Sheriff's Office was seeking 17 individuals on drug trafficking charges throughout Laurel County based on undercover investigations conducted by Laurel Sheriff’s Detective James Sizemore and Detective Bryon Lawson.

Ruth Ann Murphy was charged on a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest charged with trafficking in a controlled substance first-degree first offense methamphetamine; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine.

Murphy was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Additional arrest on November 15, 2018

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Detective James Sizemore along with Detective Bryon Lawson arrested Willis Black age 50 of London, KY on Thursday afternoon November 15, 2018 at approximately 12:36 PM.

The arrest occurred off Binder Drive in London while deputies were serving an arrest warrant on Ruth Ann Murphy there regarding the roundup.

They located a male subject there in possession of methamphetamine and a set of digital scales.

Willis Black was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
