Manchester man injured in collision / Bell County


Calloway, Ky. (November 13, 2018) - On November 13, 2018 at 10:21 a.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10, Harlan received a call about collision involving a tractor trailer overturning on Ky. 2012 at the intersection of Balkan Road in the Calloway community of Bell County.

Trooper Roy Pace and Tpr. Don Perry are on the scene conducting an investigation at this time. Bell County EMS is on the scene to assist along with Bell County Fire Dept.

Ky. 2012 is shut down at this time.

UPDATE

Preliminary investigation indicates, Franklin Collins Jr., (36) of Manchester was traveling east on Ky 2012 when he lost control of the tractor trailer. The truck overturned and struck a telephone pole. Mr. Franklin was ejected from the truck and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected into the collision.

Ky. 2012 is currently shut down while crews work to tow the tractor trailer.

Collision is still under investigation by Tpr. Don Perry. Also assisted at the scene were Tpr. Roy Pace, MTP. Jason Young, Bell County EMS, Bell County Fire Department and Bell County Rescue Squad.

UPDATE

Kentucky State Police, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement is conducting the collision investigation on U.S.119. One lane is currently open. Collision is still under investigation by Officer Jason Freeman.
