Two arrested at complaint investigation in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Gary Mehler arrested Jeffery Callahan age 40 of East Bernstadt on Tuesday afternoon November 6, 2018 at approximately 1:40 PM.

The arrest occurred off Evans Lane approximately 4 miles north of London after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies located a male subject and conducted an investigation and found this subject in possession of a crystal like substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine.

Jeffery Callahan was charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Also arrested was Marilyn Mae Mitchell age 41 of East Bernstadt determined to be wanted an outstanding warrant of arrest charging theft $500 or more but under $10,000; theft of identity of another without consent; fraudulent use of credit cards over $100 within a six-month period.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Also assisting for the Sheriff's office on the investigation and arrest was Deputy Brad Mink, Deputy Jamie Etherton, Deputy Daniel Grigsby, CSO Brent France and Laurel County Emergency Management Director Justin Noe.
