On 10.16.18, an incorrect statement was made on WYMT by the Clay County Sheriff’s Dept. about our current hiring process and applicants.

Chief Derek House spoke with Clay Co. Sheriff Angela Johnson who stated that she had misspoken and will make a correction in regards to two of her Deputies leaving her Dept. for the London Police Dept. Two Clay Co. Deputies have applied for positions with the London Police Dept.

We would like to ensure all currently undergoing our certified officer hiring process that no decision is made until the entire process has been completed.

Thank you to all who that have applied to our Department, we look to hire individuals who are wholly dedicated to protecting and serving our citizens. The testing process will begin soon for non-certified applicants that have been received.
