Drug Activity Complaint / Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards along with Detective Bryon Lawson, Detective James Sizemore, Detective Gary Mehler,Deputy Jake Miller, and Deputy Travis Napier arrested four individuals on Wednesday afternoon October 10, 2018 approximately 4:11 PM.

The arrests occurred off Moren Town road, approximately ½ mile north of London while the Sheriff’s office was conducting an investigation regarding a drug activity complaint there. Investigators found subjects there in possession of pills, baggies, scales, snorting straws, and marijuana. In addition, numerous individuals there were wanted on outstanding warrants.

Those arrested included:

  • The owner of the property identified as Ernest W. Wagers age 54 of Morentown Road, London charged with trafficking in marijuana – first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Layton L. McQueen age 35 of Hershey Lane, London charged with possession of a controlled substance – third-degree; possession of drug paraphernalia; tampering with physical evidence; prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense. In addition, this subject was charged on an outstanding warrant charging failure to appear in court.
  • Sabrina K. Maggard age 40 of Slate Lick Road, London charged with possession of a controlled substance – third-degree; possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charged with failure to appear in court on charges of public intoxication – controlled substances.
  • Robert Wesley McWhorter age 36 of E. 9th Street, London charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding child support. In addition, this subject was charged on a second Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding child support. Also, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest obtained by the Laurel County attorney charging flagrant nonsupport – allegedly this individual owes arrearage in the amount of $3261.43. In addition, this subject was also charged on a second Laurel District Court warrant of arrest obtained by the Laurel County attorney charging flagrant nonsupport – allegedly this individual owes arrearage in the amount of $10,378.57.
  • All four individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
