LSO Officers make 3 arrests while assisting Social Services on an investigation

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards and Detective Bryon Lawson along with Deputy Travis Napier and CSO Sean Hayre arrested three individuals off Foley Road approximately 10 miles South of London on Thursday night October 4, 2018 at approximately 6:54 PM.

The arrests occurred while the Laurel County Sheriff’s office was assisting Social Services on an investigation when investigators learned from two adults who were the caregivers of children ages six months and two years of age admitted using methamphetamine earlier in the day.

In addition, a third adult in the residence who was an acquaintance also admitted smoking methamphetamine earlier in the day where the children were located. This individual was found in possession of a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine.

Two of the 3 arrested individuals were identified as the parents of the two children:

  • Quincy R. Williams age 25 of Foley Road, Corbin charged with criminal abuse – first-degree – child 12 or under.
  • Shelby L. Jones age 22 of Foley Road, Corbin charged with criminal abuse – first-degree – child 12 or under; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Acquaintance in the residence identified as: Katelyn D. Hollin age 21 of Silver Dollar Lake Road, Annville, Kentucky charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
