Arrests During Drug Trafficking Investigation / Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards along with Detective Bryon Lawson arrested two individuals on Tuesday afternoon October 2, 2018 at approximately 1:50 PM.

The arrests occurred off Barbourville Road, approximately 6 miles South of London while the Sheriff’s office was conducting an investigation into illegal drug trafficking.

One subject was found in possession of Xanax while another subject was found in possession of needles apparently used to inject methamphetamine.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

  • Kevin Dean Lawson age 42 of Barbourville Road, London charged with possession of a controlled substance – third-degree – this subject was found in possession of Xanax tablets.
  • Amy Jones age 37 of West Laurel Road, London charged with possession of drug paraphernalia – this subject was found in possession of needles apparently used to inject methamphetamine.
  • These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
