Three arrests as the “War on Drugs” continues in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root along with Major Chuck Johnson, Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards, Detective Bryon Lawson, Detective Kyle Gray, Sgt. Brett Reeves, Deputy Daniel Grigsby, and Deputy Allen Turner arrested three individuals off Keavy Road approximately 1 mile South of London on Tuesday afternoon September 18, 2018 at approximately 2:48 PM.

The arrests occurred after an investigation was conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff’s office after numerous drug complaints were received concerning a residence there. Investigators found suspected crystal methamphetamine, needles, baggies, and a prescription bottle for 60 Percocet pills filled on September 17 2018 with 25 pills missing from the bottle. One individual exited the residence yelling and cursing and creating a disturbance when officers arrived. The three individuals arrested there were identified as:

  • Christy Nicole Deaton age 34 of Philpot Rd., London charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; public intoxication – controlled substances: disorderly conduct – second-degree; resisting arrest.
  • Jennifer Beach Riley age 33 of Keavy Rd., London charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Ben Trosper age 57 of Keavy Rd., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – second-degree – first offense – schedule 3 drugs.
  • All three arrested individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
