Motorcycle rider airlifted following crash with car / Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Joey Robinson along with Deputy Daniel Grigsby, Sgt. Brett Reeves, and Deputy John Wright investigated a two vehicle serious injury traffic crash which occurred on Rooks Branch Road, approximately 10 miles South of London early Monday morning September 3, 2018 at approximately 6:40 AM.

The investigating deputies report that apparently a motorcycle traveling northbound on Rooks Branch Road collided with a Saturn Ion.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Richard Cox age 36 of Keavy was airlifted by PHI Helicopter to UK Med Center in Lexington with serious injuries.

The driver of the Saturn Ion was identified as Jesse Curry age 28 of Corbin with no injuries reported.

Assisting at the scene of the crash was Keavy Volunteer Fire Department, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, and PHI Helicopter.
