KSP Arrests Estill County High School Employee for Sexual Offenses


IRVINE, Ky.  –The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted on Sunday, August 12, 2018, and notified of a possible incident involving an employee of the Estill County School system and a female student.

The initial investigation alleges that Andrew Hatton sent multiple female students nude and sexually explicit photographs, and a video through the social media application Snapchat.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Andrew J. Hatton, 28 years old of Irvine, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Richmond and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center charged with five counts of Rape 3rd Degree, two counts of Prohibited Use of Electronic Communication Device to Procure a Minor, two counts of Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance By a Minor, and three counts of Distribution of Obscene Matter to a Minor.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Charles Brandenburg.
