KSP - Collision Investigation / Pulaski County



London, Ky. (August 13, 2018) – On Sunday, August 12, 2018 at approximately 7:26 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 11- London was contacted by the Pulaski County 911 Center in reference to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred at 103 South Maple Street in the city limits of Somerset.

Trooper Matthew Parmley responded to the scene and determined that a juvenile riding a bicycle had been struck by a vehicle which had left the scene. Through investigation, Trooper Parmley identified the driver of the vehicle as Edward Girdler of Somerset. Mr. Girdler was cited to Pulaski District Court for Leaving the Scene of an Accident / Failure to Render Aid or Assistance. The juvenile was transported by a private vehicle to the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset before being flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. The juvenile’s current condition is unknown.

Trooper Parmley is continuing the investigation.
