KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Jackson County


MCKEE, Ky. (August 13, 2018) –The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called on Friday, August 10, 2018 just after 7:20 pm, in reference to a two vehicle collision that occurred on US-421, north of McKee in Jackson County.

The initial investigation indicates that Melinda A. Parker, 28 years old of London, KY, was driving North on US-421 in a black Pontiac passenger car with a young child, and crossed the centerline before colliding head-on with a red Ford truck operated by Frank Revel. As a result of the collision, Melinda Parker was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner. Her juvenile passenger was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Trooper Nicholas Brumback and Trooper Seath Whiles.
