Laurel County Sheriff's deputy receives Governor's Award

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Rick Cloyd was recognized at the Hyatt Regency in Lexington on Wednesday morning August 8,2018 at the annual luncheon and awards ceremony held by the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety for the calendar year June 2017 through June 2018.

Deputy Cloyd representing the Laurel County Sheriff's office received the top award for the sheriff's office for his efforts relating to occupant protection enforcement in motor vehicles regarding safety belts, child restraints, and booster seats.

Deputy Cloyd received a plaque reflecting the Governor's Award for 2018 for outstanding achievement in reducing highway fatalities and injuries.
