Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Travis Napier along with Deputy Taylor McDaniel ,Deputy Keith Dinsmore, and CSO Sean Hayre investigated a serious injury single vehicle traffic crash which occurred near Park Subdivision off Ky. 1189 on Sunday afternoon August 5, 2018 at approximately 3:00 PM.
The investigating deputies report that it appears that a Jeep Cherokee ran off the roadway striking a tree head-on trapping the driver inside.
The driver was identified as Jason Abrams age 41, airlifted by helicopter to UK Medical Center in Lexington in critical condition.
Assisting at the scene of the crash was Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London Laurel Rescue Squad, Campground Volunteer Fire Department, and PHI Helicopter.
