KSP - Fatal Collison in Knox County



Cannon, Ky. (July 23, 2018) - On July 22, 2018 at approximately 11:00 p.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan received a call about a single vehicle fatality on North Ky 11 in the Cannon area of Knox County. Troopers from post 10 responded to the collision and began an investigation.

Preliminary investigation indicates Robert Jackson (25) of Cannon was traveling south on Ky 11 when he dropped off the shoulder of the roadway and then overcorrected the vehicle. The vehicle then crossed the center line into the north bound lanes just before leaving the roadway and striking an embankment. The vehicle then overturned causing the Mr. Jackson to be ejected from the vehicle.

Mr. Jackson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Knox County Coroner Mike Blevins. Mr. Jackson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected at this time.

Collision is still under investigation by Tpr. Frank Russell. Also assisted at the scene were Tpr. Josh Cox, Sgt. Jason Bunch, Knox County Coroner’s Office and Knox County Ambulance Service.
