Receiving stolen property arrests --- Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Keith Dinsmore along with Deputy Jake Miller, Deputy Travis Napier, and CSO Sean Hayre assisted by Ky. State Police arrested five individuals on Sunday night July 1, 2018 at approximately 10:42 PM.

The arrests occurred off Ky 770 approximately 12 miles south of London in a motel parking lot , in a motel room, and in the immediate area after information was developed on the location of a reported stolen vehicle – a 2003 Pontiac stolen from Corbin last week. The car's lawful owner spotted the vehicle, followed it to the motel, and blocked the vehicle in until deputies arrived at the scene. When deputies arrived at the scene they located the stolen vehicle along with individuals in the parking lot and in a motel room where the vehicle was parked. In addition, deputies learned that subjects had fled the scene across the street to a business parking lot and also had fled toward a subdivision nearby. A total of five individuals were located by deputies with assistance from Kentucky State Police. In addition, one individual was found in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia in the motel room hiding in the shower.

The five arrested individuals were identified as:

Brittany Grubb age 29 of Tomcat trail, London charged with theft by unlawful taking – auto- $500 or more but under $10,000.

Barbara Wilder age 26 of Cumberland Falls Hwy., Corbin charged with theft by unlawful taking – auto – $500 or more but under $10,000.

Scotty Dewayne Hensley age 36 Of Bluebonnet Cir., Corbin charged with receiving stolen property over $500 but under $10,000; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, this subject was charged on a Madison Circuit Court indictment bench warrant charging bail jumping – first-degree. In addition, this subject was charged on a Madison Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging flagrant nonsupport.

Ansel Blaine Cornelius age 39of  Highway 1481, Williamsburg, Kentucky charged with receiving stolen property over $500 but under $10,000.

Andrew T. Rose age 33 Of Rose St., Corbin charged with receiving stolen property over $500 but under $10,000.

All five individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
