Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Chris Edwards along with Deputy Keith Dinsmore arrested two individuals on Friday night June 29, 2018 at approximately 10:33 PM.
The arrests occurred following an investigation that was conducted into a complaint that social services was investigating at apartments approximately 9 miles south of London where a 13-month-old child was taken into protective custody.
Where the investigation conducted by other Sheriff's office and doctors revealed that the child had infected cigarette burns on her backside.
The child was treated at St. Joseph Hospital London and later transferred to UK Medical Center in Lexington for treatment.
The two individuals arrested were identified as the biological parents identified as Jessica Mae Sams age 26 of Corbin and Thomas Lee Tallon age 26 also of Corbin, both charged with criminal abuse – first-degree and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
