Prestonsburg KY (June 13, 2018) - Kentucky State Police Post 09 are investigating a body found on one of the hiking trails at the State Park.
Shortly after 8:00 P.M. Wednesday Troopers were dispatched to the Park along with Prestonsburg Police, Prestonsburg Fire department, the Kentucky State Park Ranger Service and Trans Star Ambulance. Troopers were led to the scene where the body was found by another person who was hiking on the trail also.
The body was pronounced deceased by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office. The name is not being released pending notification to the next of kin
At this time it appears the death comes from natural causes, and no Autopsy will be performed. A full Toxicology will be performed by the Coroner’s office.
This is an ongoing investigation by Trooper Adams.
