Three promotions at LSO in London, Kentucky

London, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root reports that the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, in keeping pace with its ever growing and changing needs, has promoted 3 deputies within the agency. Sheriff Root is pleased to announce the following appointments:

Major Chuck Johnson has 22 years of law enforcement experience with London City Police, Kentucky State Police and Laurel County Sheriff's office. He is a graduate of South Laurel high school and attended EKU and has an associate of science degree in police administration. His parents are Charlie and Linda Johnson of London Kentucky. Major Johnson along with his wife Sharon Johnson and children Madelyn, Anna, Kenlee, Sam, and  Jordan reside in Laurel County.

Capt. Kevin Berry has 12 years of law enforcement experience with McKee Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff's office and Laurel County Sheriff's office. He is a graduate of Madison Central high school in Richmond Kentucky. His parents are Clinton Berry and Margie Berry of Berea, Ky.  Capt. Berry along with his wife Leigha Berry and children Kayla Berry and Skylar Lainhart reside in Laurel County.

Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards has 22+ years in law enforcement with London City police were he retired in 2016 , a task force officer with Drug Enforcement Agency( DEA), and the Laurel County Sheriff's office. He is a graduate of Laurel County high school class of 1991 and attended EKU and Union College.
