Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Chris Edwards is investigating a shooting which occurred off Blackwater Church Road, approximately 11 miles east of London early Friday morning June 8, 2018.
The investigating detective reports that London St. Joseph Hospital reported a male subject showed up at St. Joseph Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face at approximately 12:31 AM Friday morning.
An investigation is being conducted and it has been learned that apparently a disagreement occurred between the victim and the suspect at the suspect's residence off Blackwater Church Road when the shooting occurred.
The victim was identified as a 49 year old male from London – serious injuries.
The suspect has not yet been located and is identified as Robert T. Smith of 1678 Blackwater Church Rd., London – being sought by the Laurel County Sheriff's office for attempted murder. He is described as--age 26, 5'11", 190 pounds, blue eyes, brown hair and possibly armed with a small caliber pistol.
