London, Ky. (May 19, 2018) – On Friday, May 18, 2018 at approximately 1:00 AM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a report of a shooting that had taken place at a residence on Sacker Road in the Burning Springs community of Clay County.
Upon arrival, KSP Detectives discovered Darren T. Gay, 37, of Manchester deceased of an apparent gunshot wound. Preliminary investigation indicates that Gay showed up at the residence on Sacker road, got into a physical altercation with several individuals when the shots were fired.
Gay was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Clay County Coroner’s Office. His body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy is scheduled for today.
No arrest has been made at this time. The investigation will be presented to the Clay County Grand Jury upon its completion.
KSP Detective James Royal is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by Troopers from Post 11, KSP Detectives and Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
