Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Rick Cloyd investigated a single vehicle injury traffic crash which occurred on I -75 in the southbound lane approx. 9 miles south of London on Wednesday evening May 16, 2018 at approximately 5:25 PM.
The investigating deputy reports that apparently a 2017 gray colored Chevrolet Malibu was southbound on I-75 when the vehicle left the roadway striking the median cable barrier.
When the driver exited the vehicle, the vehicle caught fire and destroyed the vehicle.
The driver was identified as Norma Lee Smith age 49 of Corbin transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to a local hospital for treatment of possible injuries.
Assisting at the scene of the crash was West Knox Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.
