Auditor Mike Harmon Announces Hiring of Deputy Executive Director for the Office of Technology and Special Audits

FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 18, 2018) – Mike Harmon, Kentucky’s 47th Auditor of Public Accounts, announced today the hiring of Andrew Schachtner as the new Deputy Executive Director for the Office of Technology and Special Audits.  Schachtner started in his new role on May 1.

Before joining Auditor Harmon’s office, Schachtner served as the Executive Director of the Office of Financial Management and Administration, and Chief of Staff at the Department for Local Government (DLG).  During his time at DLG, Schachtner provided financial oversight for counties, cities, and special purpose governmental entities.  Before joining DLG, Schachtner worked as a Controller for a medical device company and served on the boards of several civic organizations.

Schachtner is a graduate of the University of Louisville, and is currently working on his CPA license.  Schachtner resides in Lyndon with his wife and their son.
