Eight arrested Monday by Laurel Sheriff's Office during drug investigation

Laurel County, KY - Laurel Sheriff John Root, Laurel Sheriff's Detective James Sizemore along with Detective Jason Back, Capt. Chuck Johnson, Lieut. Greg Poynter, Sgt. Robbie Grimes, Deputy Travis Napier, Deputy Taylor McDaniel and CSO Sean Hayre  arrested 8 individuals on drug and other charges off Hatcher road, 2 miles east of London on Monday  afternoon May 7th, 2018 at approximately 3:00 P.M.

The arrests occurred while the Sheriff's office was conducting a drug investigation there, where deputies located suspected methamphetamine, marijuana  and drug paraphernalia including scales. Individuals there were observed by deputies trafficking meth.

Some individuals fled from deputies, some hid, and some hindered apprehension. Some subjects there were found with outstanding warrants.

Those arrested included:

David Beckner age 33 of Sally's Branch Rd., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first degree – first offense – methamphetamine; conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance – first offense; trafficking in marijuana first offense; two counts of fleeing or evading police – second degree – on foot; possession of a controlled substance – third-degree; two counts of resisting arrest.

Donnie Bishop age 35 of Crescent Rd., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance – first offense; trafficking in marijuana first offense.

Stevie Westerfield age 62 Of Hatcher Rd., London charged with possession of a controlled substance – 3rd degree; tampering with physical evidence; possession of marijuana.

Jesse R. Westerfield age 56 Of Hatcher Rd., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – methamphetamine; conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance – first offense;trafficking in marijuana second offense.

Edward Belt age 50 of Sim Smith Rd., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine ; conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance – first offense; trafficking in marijuana first offense.

Judy Westerfield age 63 of Hatcher Rd., London charged with hindering prosecution or apprehension – second-degree.

James Daniels age 43 of Barbourville Road, London charged with fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot.

Darrin M. Jackson age 45 of Hatcher Road, London charged on a Bell District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding arrearage owed of $9280.73 regarding child support.
