Manchester, KY - Mr. James “Jack” Ward, age 84 of Manchester departed this life on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the University Of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born on Sunday, June 25, 1933 in Egypt, Kentucky to the union of Felix and Fannie Morgan Ward. Jack was former co-owner and President of Lewis Coal Company, owner of Wash World in Manchester, former School Board Member and former Bank Director at the 1st State Bank as well as a member of the Baptist Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Billie Jean Phillips Ward, his daughter: Debbie Mills, his grandson: Jamey Mills and his fiancé Katelyn Pennington, his great granddaughter: Faith Mills and her mother: Jessica Cromer, his sister: Ruth Caudill, his brother-in-law: Clyde Phillips and his wife Rhonda, 2 longtime friends: Neville Smith and Buddy Turner as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family member and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Felix and Fannie Ward, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Walter and Viola Phillips, 2 sons: James Gilbert Ward and Donovan Ward, his sisters: Elizabeth Ray and Gladys Estridge, his brothers-in-law: Charles “Babe” Phillips, Oscar Caudill, Cecil Ray and Paul Estridge as well as his sister-in-law: Bobbie Phillips.
Funeral Services for Mr. James “Jack” Ward will be conducted on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tess Lipps will be presiding. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Saturday evening after 6:30 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
