Out-of-Control juvenile removed from a Laurel County school bus



Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Rick Cloyd along with Deputy Keith Dinsmore were dispatched to a complaint of an out-of-control female juvenile on board a Laurel County school bus at Keavy Elementary School approximately 8 miles south of London on Thursday afternoon April 19, 2018 at approximately 3:45 PM.

While en route deputies learned that a juvenile had apparently threatened children on the bus and had threatened the bus driver and the principal. Approximately 60 children ranging from the age of 6 to 12 were on board the bus.

When deputies arrived at the scene they encountered the out-of-control 17-year-old female juvenile who had to be removed by the deputies from the bus and was taken into custody.

The juvenile continued to curse, scream, yell and threaten students and staff. This subject stated she was a drug user and was determined to be under the influence.

The juvenile female was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; disorderly conduct – second-degree; and 63 counts of terroristic threatening – second-degree.

The court designated worker (CDW) was contacted and assisted making contact with Laurel District Judge Wendell Hammons who ordered the female juvenile detained.

Laurel County Sheriff's Bailiff Tony Anders and Special Deputy Elizabeth Sparks transported the female juvenile to Breathitt County Juvenile Detention facility .

The Keavy Elementary School Principal assisted deputies at the scene.
