Animal Cruelty Arrest in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that on April 3rd, 2018, at approximately 1:30 PM, Deputy Josh Scott responded to a residence on Keavy Road, 10 miles south of London, in reference to an animal cruelty complaint.

The caller advised a dog was tied to a camper trailer and not being fed.

Upon Deputy Scott's arrival, he located two dogs tied outside a camper trailer. The dogs appeared to be malnourished and in poor health.

The accused subject did not have any dog food. Deputy Scott was unable to locate any dishes or other evidence that would indicate the dogs had recently been fed or watered.

Deputy Scott arrested Jessie Jones, age 32, and charged him with Cruelty to Animals 2nd Degree and lodged him in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Deputy Scott contacted animal control to take possession of the dogs.
