PSA - Programs offered by the Clay County Extension Office for April 2018



Manchester, KY - Clay County Cooperative Extension Service upcoming programs for April, 2018

Cooking Calendar Dishes will be April 2nd at 6:00 pm at the Extension Office.  Come join us as we cook our way through the months of March and April using recipes from the educational calendar we distribute through our office.  Each participate will receive a calendar and get to sample recipes.  The program is FREE and open to the public, but you must call 598-2789 to register.

Disaster Preparedness is April 5th at 6:00 pm at the EXCEL building.  What can you do to help your family prepare for a disaster?  What do you need to have on hand?  We never know when we may have a disaster, but we can plan to be as prepared as we can.  Program is open to the public and FREE, but call 598-2789 to register.

Our next 4-H Fun with Painting Class will be Thursday, April 12th at 4:45 pm at the Excel Building beside McDonalds. This class meets quarterly and focuses on new painting techniques.  It is a great opportunity to explore a new hobby and enjoy family bonding time.  Adults, kids & families are encouraged to participate.  Kenna Spears will be teaching the painting class for us and will have door prizes to give out.  This class is FREE, but you must call the Clay County Extension at 598-2789 to register, by Tuesday, April 10th. Limited spots are available!  This class is sponsored by the Clay County Extension Office and the Clay County Family Resource Centers.  Refreshments will be provided.

4-H Chefs in Training will be on April 16th from 4-5:00 pm at the Clay County Extension Office. Come & join us as we learn kitchen tricks, safety & new cooking skills and will be making snickerdoodle cookies.  You will also have the opportunity to enter items for Kentucky State Fair.  FREE & open to all youth ages 9-18. (If younger, a parent or guardian is required to stay with child.)  Please call 598-2789 to register by Friday, April 13th.

County Annual Homemaker Meeting and Quilt Show will be Saturday April 21st at the EXCEL building. Registration is from 10:00 – 11:00 am.  Cultural Arts and Quilts will be available for viewing by the public from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon.  Lunch is at 12:00 pm and homemaker business meeting will be 12:45 pm.  For more information, call 598-2789.

Attention Clay County Community Farmers’ Market Vendors: If you wish to take Senior Vouchers this market year, you must participate in the training on April 26, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the EXCEL building!

Plate It Up Cooking School will be April 26th at 6:00 pm at the Extension Office.  We will prepare three of the Plate It Up recipes for your enjoyment.  The main ingredient in these recipes can be raised and preserved from your home garden this summer.  You will be able to sample the recipes.  FREE and open to the public, but call 598-2789 to register.  .

Savvy Sellers & Bargain Hunters homemaker leaders training will be April 27th at 10:00 am at the Extension Office.  Come learn about looking for the best bargains and become a savvy seller and bargain hunter.  We all want to find bargains for our pocketbook.  This program is FREE and open to the public, but please call 598-2789 to register.
