Six arrests Wednesday during drug investigation in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root and Detective Chris Edwards along with Detective Sgt. Kevin Berry, and Detective Kyle Gray arrested six individuals off Moriah Church Road, approximately 7 miles west of London on Wednesday night March 28, 2018 at approximately 7:17 PM.

The arrests occurred while the Laurel County Sheriff's office was conducting a drug investigation after receiving a complaint at that location. The Sheriff along with detectives and deputies located intoxicated adults caring for children one of which was 10 months old.

In addition, the Sheriff's office located drugs and drug paraphernalia including snort tubes, baggies with white residue, pills, pipes, and hypodermic needles. Some adults there admitted that they had allegedly used drugs with children present.

Sheriff John Root noted that living conditions there were deplorable with items of drug paraphernalia throughout the residence, trash, no running water, no food, and a rooster running loose in the residence. At least one individual had an outstanding bench warrant of arrest. The mother of the 10-month-old was not at the residence originally but arrived at the scene while the Sheriff's office was investigating, and she too was among the six arrested.
