LSO recovers more stolen property / Additional charge filed

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: as a result of a continuing investigation into a burglary which occurred off Slate Lick Road, on Friday, March 16, 2018 at approximately 3:18 P.M. a Samsung washer and dryer were recovered off Robinson Spur Road approximately 1 mile north of London after information was developed by investigators at the Sheriff's office.

Laurel Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Kevin Berry along with Detective Chris Edwards, Detective Kyle Gray, and Lieut. Greg Poynter recovered and returned the stolen washer and dryer to their rightful owner.

Detectives and deputies placed an additional charge of receiving stolen property under $10,000 on Priscilla R. Smith age 34 of East Bernstadt regarding the recovery of the washer and dryer.

This individual was already lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. This individual was arrested on Monday night March 12, 2018 after Laurel Sheriff's detectives and deputies located Priscilla R. Smith and a second individual Curtis D. Smith age 23 of East Bernstadt in possession of a 65 inch television that had been reported stolen.
