DANVILLE, Ky. (March 7, 2018) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called just after 8:00 pm last night, and notified of a fatal shooting that occurred at a residence on Shakertown Road, just north of Danville.
The initial investigation indicates that Jennifer Montgomery, 27 years old of Danville, was fatally shot by her husband during a domestic dispute. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Boyle County Coroner, and taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
The alleged shooter, Colin Montgomery, 29 years old of Danville, was taken into custody by the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office when they arrived at the scene. As a result of the ongoing investigation, Colin Montgomery was arrested and has been lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center charged with Murder.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Tye Chavies. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Boyle County Sheriff’s Office, and the Boyle County Coroner.
