Triple fatal traffic crash - Laurel County


The Laurel County Sheriff's office is investigating a two vehicle triple fatality traffic crash

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Ky. 80 – Hal Rogers Parkway West has been reopened westbound, both lanes are open to traffic.

The Laurel County Sheriff's office is investigating a two vehicle triple fatality traffic crash which occurred at the intersection of Ky 1535 – Sinking Creek Road and Ky. 80 – Hal Rogers Parkway on Friday morning March 2, 2018 at approximately 7:24 AM.

Investigators for the Laurel County Sheriff's office report that apparently a passenger car pulled out from Ky. 1535 in front of the path of a westbound pickup truck and the two vehicles collided traveling off the roadway on the right shoulder and came to rest.

Three persons were pronounced deceased at the scene in the passenger car. No injuries were reported and the pickup truck.

Additional information about the crash will be reported later this afternoon.

Assisting at the scene of the crash was Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, Colony volunteer fire department, the Laurel County Coroner's office, and the state highway department.
