Body discovered in burned car - Pulaski County


Pulaski County, KY - According to Sheriff Greg Speck, deputies responded to a 911 call of a vehicle fire in the 3500 block of Rush Branch Road at approximately 6:45 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2018.

Volunteer fire personnel from the Haynes Knob Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire which was fully involved upon their arrival.

Inside the 1997 Ford Escort LX, Sergeant Cary York and fire personnel discovered the burnt remains of a male subject.

The Pulaski County Major Crimes Task Force was notified and an investigation was begun. Pulaski County Coroner Clyde Strunk removed the body from the scene and transported it to Frankfort, Kentucky for autopsy at the State Medical Examiner's Office.

Assisting units at the scene were the Somerset-Pulaski County Special Response Team, and Ferguson and White Lilly Volunteer Fire Departments.

The investigation continues by the Pulaski County Major Crimes Task Force.
