Drug trafficking arrests following joint effort by Laurel Co. Sheriff's Ofc., KSP, and the Ky. Attorney General's Ofc.

Sheriff John Root stated that the "War on Drugs" is continuing

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective James Sizemore arrested 3 more individuals  regarding the recent sheriff's drug Roundup conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff's office.

On Wednesday morning February 7, 2018 at approximately 11:51 AM. information was developed on the location of three individuals wanted by the sheriff's office.

The arrests occurred following a joint effort by the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, the Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky Attorney General's Office.

Arrested was:

Charles D. Swanson age 32 of Fariston Road, London arrested on Fariston Road and charged on a Laurel County warrant of arrest obtained by Laurel Sheriff's Detective James Sizemore charging trafficking and controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; and conspiracy to traffic in the controlled substance – first offense regarding allegedly selling Oxycodone. In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of criminal trespassing – third-degree and disorderly conduct – second-degree. Also this subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of burglary – third-degree. In addition, the subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense. In addition, the subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of public intoxication – controlled substances. Additionally, the subject was charged on a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest charging Theft by Deception including cold checks under $500.

Hazel McClure age 52 Of Fariston Road, London arrested on Fox Den Road and charged on a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest obtained by Laurel Detective James Sizemore charging trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – allegedly this subject sold Oxycodone.

Tonya Rush age 35 of Fariston Road, London arrested on Fariston Road and charged on a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest obtained by Laurel Detective James Sizemore charging trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree's first offense and conspiracy to traffic in the controlled substance – first offense – allegedly sold Oxycodone. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding a contempt hearing. In addition, the subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging probation violation regarding Flagrant Nonsupport.

All three subjects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
