London, Ky. (January 24, 2018) – On Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at approximately 1:53 AM, Trooper Kyle Trosper was patrolling Interstate 75 southbound near the 34-mile marker when he observed a 2016 Nissan box truck driving recklessly.
Trooper Trosper activated his emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The operator later identified as Dontevious Holmes, 25, of Stone Mountain, GA refused to stop. A pursuit was initiated and Holmes continued traveling southbound for approximately 5 miles until he exited off the interstate at Exit 29 and pulled into a BP fuel station where he was taken into custody without incident.
He was arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center on charges of Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree, Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree- Police Officer and several other traffic charges.
Trooper Trosper is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by Troopers from Post 11.
