Burglary and Theft arrest in Laurel County - Stolen pickup recovered

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel County deputies located a suspect that was being sought by the Sheriff's office regarding the alleged theft of a pickup truck on October 13, 2017.

The reported stolen blue Ford pickup (taken from Holly Grove Road near Keavy) was found two days after the theft with damage to it abandoned behind a restaurant in London. Deputy Brad Mink investigated that theft of the pickup.

On Tuesday afternoon November 28, 2017 at approximately 2:05 PM Deputy Brandon Broughton and Sgt. Brett Reeves along with CSO Brent France were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject found by a maintenance man at apartments off Pepperhill Drive approximately 1 mile west of London – the male subject was inside an apartment where the previous resident had apparently been evicted and was presently in jail.

Reportedly locks had been changed on the apartment. The suspect located there was identified as: Cody Glancy age 23 of Slate Lick Road, London and was the same individual that Sheriff deputies were seeking regarding the stolen pickup truck case from October of this year.

Cody Glancy was charged with burglary – second-degree; theft by unlawful taking – auto – $500 or more but under $10,000; criminal mischief – second-degree. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of assault – 4th degree – domestic violence.

Also, this subject was charged on a second Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of theft by unlawful taking under $500.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
