Another drug roundup arrest in Laurel County



Laurel County, KY - Laurel Sheriff John Root along with Deputy Jake Miller and Deputy Charlie Johnson have arrested another of the sheriff's drug roundup suspects.

Arrested was: Tonya Parms age 39 of London on Sunday afternoon November 26, 2017 at approximately 3:44 PM.

The arrest occurred off East Campground Rd., approximately 8 miles south of London after the Laurel County Sheriff's office responded to an alleged physical domestic violence complaint between a female subject and her husband.

Upon arrival it was learned that the female subject had apparently assaulted her husband and had left the scene walking . This subject was located nearby on Ky. 229.

It was determined that this subject had three outstanding warrants one of which was a Laurel County warrant of arrest regarding being sought by the Sheriff's office regarding the drug roundup "Operation November to Remember" which was conducted on November 21st, 2017 where the Laurel County Sheriff's Office was seeking 30 individuals on drug trafficking charges throughout Laurel County based on undercover investigations conducted by Laurel Sheriff’s Detective James Sizemore and Detective Jason Back.

Tonya Parms was charged with conspiracy to traffic in the controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – crystal methamphetamine and trafficking a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school. This is the 22nd arrest.

In addition, related to the assault investigation, this subject was charged with assault – 4th degree and giving officer false identifying information – this subject used her sister's name when being questioned.

This subject was also charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and assault – 4th degree – domestic violence.

Also this subject was charged on a Laurel district court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and failure of owner to maintain required insurance.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
