Thanksgiving Eve arrests in Laurel County following Drug Investigation

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root along with Detective James Sizemore with assistance from Deputy Daniel Grigsby and his K-9 "Edge", and Sgt. Robbie Grimes, Deputy Keith Dinsmore, Deputy Taylor McDaniel, and CSO Brent France conducted a drug investigation and developed information obtaining and executing a search warrant on Ky. 552 approximately 7 miles south of London on Wednesday night November 22, 2017 at approximately 7:00 PM.

Two individuals were arrested and Drug Paraphernalia, Xanax bars, Hydrocodone, and Marijuana along with an SKS rifle and a large sum of US currency was seized.

The two individuals arrested were identified as:

  • Raymond Smith age 52 of Lily charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance second-degree – first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; and trafficking in marijuana.
  • Angela Combs age 43 of White Oak Rd., London charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. 
  • These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
