LSO deputies assist Corbin City Police Dept. with felony warrant arrest


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Shawn Jackson along with Deputy Daniel Grigsby and his K-9 "Edge", Deputy Shannon Jones, and Corbin City Police Officer Steve Meadors arrested Curtis Lewis age 34 of McClure Bridge Road, Lily early Sunday morning December 11, 2016 at approx. 4:45 A.M.

The arrest occurred while deputies were assisting Corbin City Police Department with a felony warrant.

Officers traveled to a location off McClure Bridge Road, approximately 7 miles south of London and found this subject hiding in the bedroom of a residence there. This subject started kicking and swinging his arms and after a short scuffle with officers was taken into custody.

While outside and being escorted to the police cruiser, this subject created a disturbance in the area.

Curtis Lewis was charged with disorderly conduct; resisting arrest; and menacing. In addition, Corbin Police Department had warrants on this subject charging a parole violation, theft by unlawful taking $10,000 or more, persistent felony offender I, burglary third-degree; burglary - second-degree, theft by unlawful taking – auto, fleeing or evading police – first-degree – on foot, and prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense. In addition, deputies were advised by Corbin Police that attempted murder of a police officer charges were pending with their department.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
