Laurel County service station robbed at gunpoint


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Detective Kevin Berry along with Detective Kyle Gray are investigating an armed robbery which occurred on Wednesday morning November 30, 2016 at approximately 6:05 AM. at the Marathon Service Station on Adams Road near Ky. 770 and I-75, approximately 10 miles south of London.

The investigating detectives report that apparently a lone male subject entered the business armed with a pistol and took an undisclosed amount of money from the service station attendant. The suspect then locked the attendant in the freezer and apparently fled the scene on foot west off Ky. 770.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing all black including a black hoodie approximately 6 foot, 180- 200 pounds and his face painted black.

Assisting at the scene was Senior Deputy Brandon Broughton, Deputy Josh Scott, and Deputy Keith Dinsmore.
