The Knox County Sheriff's Department is reporting that on November 26, 2016 Knox County Deputy Keith Liford responded to a complaint of a man caught stealing inside a garage at a residence on Calebs Creek Road in Hinkle.
When Deputy Liford arrived, he observed the man sitting in a vehicle on the property. During his investigation, Deputy Liford determined that entry into the garage had been gained by kicking in the door.
Deputy Liford arrested Challis Ray Davis age 35 of Flat Lick, KY charging him with Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree and Public Intoxication.
During the arrest, Deputy Liford found suspected Methamphetamine, Xanax bars, Neurotin tablets and Marijuana along with some stolen items from the garage.
In addition to the above charges, Deputy Liford also charged Challis Davis with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Possession of Marijuana and Prescription Controlled Substance not in Original Container.
Challis Davis was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
