London, Ky. (April 15, 2019) – On Sunday, April 14, 2019 at approximately 7:46 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London was notified of a residential structure fire with a fatality on Sugar Lane in the Lily community of Laurel County.
KSP Arson Investigator Brian Lewis and KSP Detectives arrived on scene and learned the Lily Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:25 PM and discovered Charles R. Barton, 58, of Lily deceased inside the residence after extinguishing the flames.
The cause and origin of the fire has not determined at this time. Barton’s Body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy has been scheduled for today. Preliminary cause of death is expected later.
Detective Ryan Loudermilk is continuing the investigation. he was assisted Troopers from Post 11, Lily Fire Department, West Knox Fire Department and Laurel County Coroner’s Office.
