Discovery of active methamphetamine lab /Child removed from home
(LONDON, KY.) – On Saturday, November 19, 2011 at approximately 6:00 PM, the Kentucky State Police and the McCreary County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence on Ingram Road in McCreary County in reference to a welfare check of a child.
Upon arrival Trooper Craig Reed and McCreary County Deputies spoke with Danny Roberts, 37, of Whitley City and observed illegal control substances which includedmethamphetamine, items to manufacture methamphetamine, prescription medication and drug paraphernalia.
Further investigation led to the discovery of an active methamphetamine lab.
Roberts was arrested and lodged in the McCreary County Detention Center on the charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd.
Roberts' child was removed from the home by McCreary County Department for Family and Social Services and his spouse was not charged at this time.
The incident will be presented to the McCreary County grand jury for consideration of additional charges.
Trooper Reed is continuing the investigation and was assisted by officers from the Kentucky State Police, the McCreary County Sheriff’s Department and the McCreary County Department for Family and Social Services.
