Drug arrests on Stewart Road in southern Laurel County

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Jason Back is investigating a manufacturing methamphetamine case following a complaint that Laurel Sheriff’s Sgt. Chuck Johnson and Deputy Brett Reeves were dispatched to investigate early Wednesday morning (8-1-2012) at 12:53 A.M. on Stewart Road, 12 miles south of London.
When deputies arrived, they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and discovered items in the vehicle used to manufacture meth including lithium batteries, drain cleaner, coleman fuel and a large bag of ammonium nitrate fertilizer.
The two occupants were arrested and are identified as: Chad B. Cole age 28 of Ky229, Barbourville, and Kevin D. Lewis age 27 of Aspen Road, Barbourville both charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, 1st Offense.
Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.
